There is more than one kind of non-runner.

Cars with these issues may be considered individually. You do not need a confirmed diagnosis.

  • Will not start

Battery, electrical or other issues preventing it from starting.

  • Engine problems

Known engine faults, overheating or mechanical issues.

  • Gearbox faults

    Automatic or manual gearbox problems.

  • Accident damage

Post-accident vehicles, including structural or cosmetic damage.

  • MOT-related faults

Failed an MOT, not necessarily non-running.

  • Unused for a long time

Been off the road for an extended period.

Not sure what is wrong? Tell us what you know. We do not need a confirmed diagnosis to start.

No need to repairit first.

If you choose to proceed, discuss faults and collection access with our team.

Start with three simple details.

Initial estimate only. A non-runner's final value depends on its condition and inspection.

Can it roll? Can it steer? Can we reach it?

These details help us plan suitable loading arrangements. Tell us before booking.

  • Wheels & tyres

    Flat tyres or locked wheels.

  • Steering

    Whether the wheels can turn.

  • Keys

    Available, missing or damaged.

  • Access

Narrow entrances, gates or underground parking.

Specialist recovery may involve an additional charge. We explain and agree this before booking.

What affects a non-runner's value?

  • Vehicle details

    Make, model, age and mileage.

  • Nature of the fault

Whether symptoms and extent of damage.

  • Overall condition

Bodywork, interior and any missing parts.

  • Available history

    Keys, records and documents.

The final offer may go up, down or stay the same after inspection. We explain any change. You decide.

A few things to have ready so the collection runs smoothly.

  • Photo ID

A current driving licence or passport.

  • V5C and service records

Your logbook (V5C) and any service history if available.

  • Main and spare keys

    All keys for the vehicle.

Your UK bank account details for payment.

Missing your V5C?

We can still buy your vehicle, but we'll need to carry out additional identity, address and right-to-sell checks. A replacement V5C may be required in some cases.

Outstanding finance?

If your vehicle has outstanding finance, we'll need the current settlement figure and to agree settlement arrangements first. Any shortfall will need to be resolved before the sale can go ahead.

Keep a private plate?

If you want to keep a private number plate, you'll need to arrange retention with the DVLA before selling your vehicle.

Non-runner questions, answered.

Do I need to fix the car before selling?

No repairs are needed to request an assessment. Tell us about the faults you know so we can assess it in its current condition.

What if I do not know the fault?

That is fine. Describe the symptoms and anything you have been told. We do not need a confirmed diagnosis.

Can you collect a car with locked wheels?

Often, yes. Tell us beforehand so we can plan suitable equipment. Specialist recovery may involve an additional charge, which we agree in advance.

Is non-runner collection free?

Standard collection within our confirmed Kent service area is free. Any charge for specialist recovery or out-of-area collection is agreed before booking.

Is my online estimate final?

No. It is an initial guide. We agree the final price after inspection and explain any change before you decide.

Can I sell without keys or a V5C?

Possibly. We may need to carry out additional checks, so tell us before booking and we will confirm what is needed.

When will I be paid?

Payment is confirmed before the vehicle is removed, normally by UK bank transfer at handover.
